We report on a high-power diode-pumped Yb:KG(WO4)2 (Yb:KGW) mode-locked laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). For 32.7 W of incident pump power, we generate 261 fs pulses with the maximum average output power of up to 13.0 W and spectrum centered around 1039 nm at 68.4 MHz, corresponding to 190 nJ of single pulse energy and 0.72 MW of peak power. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is 39.8%, and the slope efficiency is 64.4%. The Yb:KGW laser exhibits a power stability better than 0.543% of the root-mean-square in 2 h.

We demonstrate a diode-pumped femtosecond Yb:CaGdAlO4 (Yb:CALGO) laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) for stable mode-locking operation. A perfect beam profile is measured under 10 W output power with $M_{x}^{2}$ = 1.017 and $M_{y}^{2}$ = 1.016 in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. At the repetition rate of 71.66 MHz, the optical pulse duration is 247 fs and the pulse energy is 140 nJ at the central wavelength of 1041 nm, corresponding to a peak power of 0.56 MW. In addition, we also generate continuous wave (CW) power of more than 15 W with TEM00 mode, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 44.1%.

We demonstrate nonlinear pulse compression of an 8 kHz Nd:YVO4 picosecond laser using the multi-pass-cell (MPC) technique with fused silica as the nonlinear medium. The pulse duration is compressed from 12.5 ps to 601 fs, corresponding to a pulse shortening factor of 20.8. The output pulse energy is 154 μJ with an efficiency of 74.5%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest pulse compression ratio achieved in a single-stage MPC with bulk material as the nonlinear medium. The laser power stability and the beam quality (M2) before and after the MPC are also experimentally studied. Both the laser power stability and the beam quality are barely deteriorated by the MPC device.

高重频全固态掺镱飞秒激光放大器在工业超快非热微加工、极紫外光学频率梳、高通量高次谐波产生、角分辨电子动量谱等领域有着重要的作用。首先总结了高重复频率飞秒激光放大面临的增益介质热管理和增益窄化效应等关键技术瓶颈,并对近年来不同掺镱晶体全固态再生放大和行波放大技术的参数特点、适用范围及研究进展进行了梳理。最后展望了基于新型掺镱激光介质的全固态高功率飞秒激光放大器。

We demonstrate a harmonically pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) laser using a frequency-doubled mode-locked Yb:KGW laser at a repetition rate of 75.5 MHz as the pump laser. Based on a bismuth borate nonlinear crystal, repetition rates up to 1.13 GHz are realized, which is 15 times that of the pump laser. The signal wavelength is tunable from 700 nm to 887 nm. The maximum power of the signal is 207 mW at the central wavelength of 750 nm and the shortest pulse duration is 117 fs at 780 nm. The beam quality (M2 factor) in the horizontal and vertical directions of the output beam are 1.077 and 1.141, respectively.

We report on the study of single-mode fiber-laser-pumped mode-locked Yb:CALYO lasers via using a passive saturable absorber and Kerr-lens mode-locking technique, respectively. Up to 3.1-W average power with 103-fs pulse duration is obtained from the passive mode-locking, and down to 36-fs pulse duration with more than 2-W average power is achieved by the pure Kerr-lens mode-locking, which is to the best of our knowledge, the highest average power from a reported sub-40-fs Yb-based solid-state oscillator.

飞秒光学参量振荡器(OPO)能产生从紫外到中远红外波段的可调谐飞秒激光脉冲,在频率计测、生物医学、大气探测、宽带通信及**等领域有着广泛的应用。对飞秒钛宝石激光器同步抽运OPO进行了研究,相继实现了波长稳定在1053 nm的高功率飞秒OPO运转。在此基础上,进一步研究了高功率掺镱全固体飞秒激光器同步抽运OPO。结合国内外飞秒OPO的研究进展,对未来全固态飞秒激光器同步抽运OPO的发展进行了展望。

采用X型谐振腔,实验研究了二极管抽运Nd:CGA激光器的连续和被动锁模激光特性。当Nd:CGA激光器实现连续运转时,采用不同透过率的输出镜优化激光器的连续输出功率。采用透射率为20%的输出镜时,获得了1.8 W的最高连续输出功率,斜率效率达到30.8%,中心波长为1079 nm;采用半导体可饱和吸收反射镜作为锁模元件、透射率为1.6%的平面镜作为输出镜,获得了脉冲宽度为2.7 ps、重复频率为177 MHz的被动锁模脉冲输出。当抽运功率为6.9 W时,获得锁模脉冲的最大平均输出功率为524 mW,相应的光光转换效率和斜率效率分别为7.6%和8.0%。

We experimentally demonstrate a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) synchronously pumped by a home-made solid-state mode-locking Yb:YCOB laser, which is capable of laser pulse as short as 102 fs and average power of 620 mW at the central wavelength of 1052 nm. By using a periodically poled lithium niobate with tuning of the grating periods from 28.5 to 31.5 μm as the nonlinear gain crystal, tunable femtosecond pulses from 1444 to 1683 nm are realized by conveniently adjusting the OPO cavity length with 76.8 MHz repetition rate. The maximum average output power is 152 mW at 1568 nm, corresponding to an idler power of 75 mW at 3197 nm as well as 36.6% total extraction efficiency.

Abstract
We demonstrate the dissipative soliton mode locking in a diode pumped Yb:GdYSiO5(Yb:GYSO) laser operating in the positive dispersion regime. We obtain stable passively mode-locked pulses with strong positive chirp and with very steep spectral edges. The central wavelength is 1050 nm with bandwidth of about 4 nm, autocorrelation trace shown the typical pulse duration is about 3.5 ps. We obtain the maximum average power of 558 mW for a 3.3-W absorbed pump power, with 22% slope efficiency, and a 78-MHz pulse repetition frequency.
